Laurier Nicas Alder, head of social at TMW Unlimited joined Adam Libonatti-Roche on the Social Buzz sofa this week to talk privacy, social media personas and how she broke into the industry.
After finishing University in 2008 Alder found herself searching for a job in the the middle of the recession, which helped her realise that her passions lay in digital: "It was such a limiting situation but it actually ended up broadening my opportunity because I actually thought about what I wanted to do," she said.
When quizzed around the topic of oversharing, Alder touched on the issues of privacy and how we've reached a "content overload situation" on social.
"We used to have shoeboxes full of Polaroids of friends and family. And photo albums that were actual physical photo albums; there was only so many of those you could have," she told Roche, adding: "Now you can have infinite photo boxes online that don't take up room under your bed."
The series accompanies The Drum’s weekly Social Buzz chat, which takes place every Tuesday between 7-8pm GMT and you can follow on Twitter using the hashtag #SMBuzzChat.
