This week has seen another wave of appointments and departures at brands, media owners and agencies. The Drum has rounded up the key moves from the EMEA, APAC and North America regions below.

EMEA people are on the move

Fox UK

Former NBC Universal managing director, Colin McLeod, has been appointed as general manager of Fox's channel operations.

Starting in a part time role before going full time in March, McLeod will oversee the UK channels Fox, National Geographic, Nat Geo Wild and BabyTV.

Visualsoft

Gavin Lowther has been appointed as head of digital for Visualsoft. In the role, Lowther will oversee the brand's digital marketing offering with the hope of developing it further.

TMG Truth

TMG Truth has announced its advisory board, featuring a number of high profile names to take the company into the new year.

Joining the agency is Jonathan Durden, co-founder of PHD; chairman of Fearlessly Frank and founder of Morph, Tim Hipperson; Sean Gogarty, former chief executive of baking, cooking andsSpreads at Unilever; Mimi Turner, formerly senior vice president of strategy at Vice UK; chief executive of Blocklab, Ben Brophy; and Frank Morris, CISO - FTSE insurer and security leader at NCC Group.

Gravity Road

Independent creative agency Gravity Road has turned to Duncan Snowden, formerly vice president of strategy at Brooklyn-based Big Spaceship, to serve in the newly created role of director of distribution and tech.

In this position Snowden will be charged with heading up Gravity Road’s creative distribution and tech divisions with a view to growing both segments of its business further.

PushOn

Push On, an e-commerce agency, has appointed Sam Rutley as managing director in a bid to drive the company forward.

Rutley will take full operational control of the business in place of former managing director, Simon Whatron, and will work to expand the company's digital services.

WPP

Karen Blackett has been appointed as WPP’s first ever UK country manager with immediate effect.

Blackett will become the face of the advertising group in the UK after taking up the post with immediate effect. She will remain in her current position as chairwoman of MediaCom UK for a six month transition period.

M&C Saatchi

Raquel Chicourel has joined M&C Saatchi from Saatchi & Saatchi as chief strategy officer.

Beginning her role in March, Chicourel will be responsible for thought leadership across the agency's client base while also being charged with developing the agency's founding ethos.

AMV BBDO

Rob Steeles has left AMV BBDO to join customer experience agencies Release, Amaze and Branded3 as group executive creative director.

He will report directly to managing director Fiona Proudler.

Inskin Media

Inskin Media has made three changes to its senior management team to further its global expansion.

Fran Cowan has been appointed to the newly created position of chief marketing officer, after being promoted from marketing director, while Richard Davidson, formerly director of technical operations, has been promoted to another new position – group technology director. Mark Hine, former chief financial officer at Fortius Group, joins Inskin in the same role.

The7stars

Independent media agency The 7 Stars has appointed Simon Harwood as head of strategy.

Bringing 15 years of agency experience and joining from PHD, where he held the head of creativity and innovation role, Harwood will lead the agency's strategic output across a client base including Iceland, Suzuki and Ladbrokes Coral.

Quiet Storm

Creative agency Quiet Storm has bolstered its senior team with Laurence Quinn as creative director, Scott Powney as digital director and Jonathan Dale as business director.

Quinn joins from Adam&Eve/DDB where he was a freelance creative. Powney previously held the head of digital position at Psona while Dave was business director at St Luke's, running accounts for the likes of Very.co.uk and Littlewoods.com.

Sony Pictures Television Networks (SPTN)

Steve Hornsey has been appointed as vice president of SPTN's UK entertainment portfolio, while Sarah Muller has been appointed as vice president of it's UK Children's and Youth portfolio.

Hornsey joins from Turner where he held the position director, general entertainment UK and northern Europe. Muller was head of children's at Channel 5.

APAC people on the move

BBC

The BBC has suffered the loss of its China editor, Carrie Gracie, as she moves back to the UK in protest against the gender pay gap at the corporation.

Gracie surprised colleagues by announcing she would quit her role as China editor last week, citing anger that male employees are more likely to earn more than their female counterparts, with two-thirds of its highest earning stars being male.

Geometry Global

Geometry Global has moved Mike Forster from Indonesia to South Korea, where he will retain his position as managing director and report to Diana Cawley, chief executive of Geometry Global Asia Pacific.

Grab

Southeast Asian ride-sharing company Grab has appointed Ooi Huey Tyng as managing director of its payments platform, GrabPay, where she will oversee the Singapore, Malaysia and Philippines markets.

Taco Bell

Taco Bell has bolstered its executive team via a number of senior hires and promotions as the fast-food chain sets its sights on global growth.

Chief marketing officer Marisa Thalberg is moving into the global role of chief brand officer, where she will be tasked with driving the brand’s US business and ensuring global consistency of its marketing strategy. Her team will also be responsible for e-commerce, internal communications and events.

Doner

Donerhas made four senior hires following the recent consolidation of McDonald’s retail and local marketing.

Andrew Lamar joins the agency as a multicultural strategist and Mike Ensroth rejoins as executive vice president brand leader following a three-year stint at sister agency Assembly. Amy Murrin has been hired as vice president brand leader, and James Brown joins as brand leader.

Gimlet Media

Ex-Hulu marketing head Jenny Wall is joining podcast network Gimlet Media as the company's first chief marketing officer. Wall will lead all marketing and audience-growth efforts at the Brooklyn-based company.

At Hulu, Wall was responsible for shepherding high-profile original shows including The Mindy Project and The Handmaid’s Tale. Prior to Hulu, Wall was vice president of marketing for Netflix.

Isobar US

Isobar US has promoted Dave Meeker to the newly created role of global director – emerging technology at Isobar.

In addition to his current US responsibilities as a vice president, Meeker will be responsible for expanding Isobar’s innovation and emerging technology offering globally.

FCB

Jennifer Hohman has joined FCB as global chief marketing officer.

In this position, Hohman will forge new business relationships with current and prospective clients on a domestic and global basis.

IPG Mediabrands

PR vet Scott Berwitz has landed at IPG Mediabrands as senior vice president of corporate communications. His close to 20 years experience includes industry PR house DiGennaro Communications, Mindshare and Horizon Media.

Berwitz will be responsible for amplifying the industry profile of IPG Mediabrands as well as its top executives via media and industry relations, thought leadership and more.

iCrossing

Global digital marketing agency iCrossing, owned by Hearst, has appointed Jeff Ratner to the position of chief media officer.

In this role, Ratner will be responsible for overseeing iCrossing’s media offering and team across the US. He will be based in New York and will report to Mike Parker, global president of iCrossing.

Team One

Team One has promoted Damian Areyan to the newly created role of group account director, experiential marketing and sponsorships.

Previously, Areyan was director of experiential marketing and managed the agency’s experiential team that focused on regional partnerships. In his new role, he will oversee Team One’s national and regional experiential groups, a total of 30 employees.

Warschawski

Warschawski has added Rachel Henderson as vice president. In this role, she will provide strategic guidance on the agency’s client accounts, oversee the execution of integrated marketing communication campaigns and ensure all clients receive the highest quality of service and care.

Quantcast

Robert Horler has joined Quantcast as chief operating officer after 19 years as a Dentsu Aegis network senior executive.

Horler will take on the newly created role immediately to oversee and lead the global commercial operations for the company.
