In his new role Inglis will assume responsibility for leading the new board, the make-up for which has also been announced, as the organisation seeks to reaffirm itself as a vibrant body promoting the interests of its 2,600 members.

New board members have been confirmed as Paul Graham, chief marketing officer of Versace; Adrian last, executive vice president/global marketing director at ITV; Michele Oliver, vice president of marketing at Mars and Tash Whitney, chief executive at Havas Helia.

Chief executive Gemma Greaves commented: “We now have a balanced mix of clients, agencies and media owners who will be helping us deliver our purpose of inspiring bolder marketing leadership and achieve our vision of being the leading global network for senior marketers.”

Inglis commented: “These are exciting times at The Marketing Society as Gemma and her team forge ahead their global expansion and the brave agenda. Stephen will be a very tough act to follow, but I’m looking forward to working with the new board. I know together we can achieve great things - I can’t wait to get started.”

MBA chief executive Maher was ranked number 97 in The Drum Adverati.
