Tesco has issued yet another social media masterclass after a customer complaint went viral.

The retailer received a lengthy tale of disappointment from “heartbroken” Yorkshire man Jonny Spencer who detailed to the outlet's PR team on Facebook how he was swindled with a confusing "any 2 for £2 sign".

Unaware two parallel offers for Volvic strawberry-flavoured water and a Mars milkshake drink were not mix and match, Spencer was hit with a £2.58 bill.

He dubbed Tesco "cheeky little trickster heartbreakers" in a now viral rant.

As Tesco increasingly gains coverage for its social media interactions (see Tesco lays the social media smackdown on Liverpool fan after Chelsea put down and Tesco faces customer service nightmare with ‘am no grass’ Glaswegian), the brand increases the likelihood of its social channels being used as a platform for complaints.

The brand however has been deriving said complaints into positive outcomes, this time with some personalised 'banter' and substantial compensation in an out-going stunt.

In way of apology, Tesco sent Jonny a blender to craft his own smoothies and avoid pricing misfortunes in future.
