TikTok poaches Hulu brand chief for top NA marketing job
Just one week after Hulu’s head of ad sales announced he was moving to Snap, the streaming platform’s vice-president of brand marketing and culture, Nick Tran, has confirmed he is exiting for TikTok.

Nick Tran heads to TikTok from Hulu
Tran takes on the role of head of marketing for North America at TikTok. He will join on Monday with a remit to oversee brand marketing, campaigns and social activity for the company.
Stefan Heinrich Henriquez, the social platform’s former head of global marketing, was named chief marketing officer of celebrity video marketplace Cameo last August.
Tran joined Hulu from Samsung in May 2018. The vice-president of brand and culture marketing was hired alongside Ryan Crosby, who remains in the role of vice-president for brand and content marketing.
It’s unclear if the OTT platform will replace Tran’s role. Hulu did not respond to The Drum’s queries at the time of publication.
The news comes just a week after Hulu’s head of ad sales, Peter Naylor, announced he was leaving to become Snap’s first vice-president for the Americas.
Hulu’s chief marketing officer, Kelly Campbell, was promoted to president in February. She continues to oversee marketing as part of her elevated role.
Disney completed its takeover of Hulu in May 2019.
