Disney’s Hulu has reconfigured its marketing leadership structure after promoting its chief marketing officer to the role of president.

Kelly Campbell

Kelly Campbell promoted to president of Hulu

In the chief marketing officer role, Kelly Campbell was responsible for subscriber growth, brand, content, B2B marketing, creative development, research and insights, and viewer experience.

She will continue to oversee Hulu's marketing organization in the new role of president. There are currently no plans to hire a new chief marketing officer as of now, The Drum understands.

Campbell will report into Kevin Mayer, chairman of Disney’s direct-to-consumer and international unit, as president. Mayer praised the marketer’s success in building a “tremendous multi-talented team”.

Campbell added: “This is a time of extraordinary growth and transformation for Hulu, and I am incredibly energized by the opportunity ahead as we enter into this next chapter.”

The news comes as Bob Iger announced he is stepping down from the role of Disney chief executive.

He will continue to serve as executive chairman until 2021, primarily focused on the company’s creative strategy.

The media vet oversaw Disney’s landgrab and digital transformation in recent years, which included taking full control of Hulu, purchasing 21st Century Fox’s assets and launching the proprietary streaming service, Disney+.

Bob Chapek, who most recently served as chairman of Disney’s parks business, will replace Iger in the top job, effective immediately.
