Tom Goodwin, Zenith Media's head of innovation

Zenith Media's executive vice president and head of innovation, Tom Goodwin is to become a monthly columnist for The Drum, sharing his views on emerging trends across the digital marketing sector.

Goodwin, the self styled industry provocateur and commentator on the future of marketing and business, will offer a monthly take on various topics as he aims to deliver his thoughts on how the industry will be shaped going forward.

At Zenith Media, Goodwin's role is to understand new technology, behaviors and platforms and ideate and implement solutions for clients that take advantage of new opportunities that aid marketer's in their ambitions. He leads the innovation and content wing within Zenith, which covers emerging platforms, content marketing, influencer programs, and new media and devices.

Commenting on what he hopes to achieve through the column, Goodwin explained: “Like most of the world, advertising is going through incredible change; at Zenith we believe we need to open our minds, discuss what’s different and what’s the same, and to learn from this debate. Consensus stops us from exploring all we can, so I’m thrilled to start writing regularly for The Drum, to challenge our thinking and to see how we can unleash the power of the new.”

Stephen Lepitak, editor of The Drum, added: "I'm really delighted to welcome Tom on board as a columnist. I know that alongside myself, others on the title have followed his preachings through social media and I am so pleased that we'll be bringing those views to our readership on a regular basis."

His first piece, which goes live today (Monday 4 September) examines the effect that the emergence of multiplatform has had upon digital advertising.

Goodwin is a frequent user of Linkedin where he interacts with the marketing services community to discuss his views on various digital advancements.
