The BBC has released a series of stills from the first promotional film for the next series of Top Gear ahead of its debut on BBC One tonight.

The snaps show Top Gear hosts Matt LeBlanc, Chris Harris and Rory Reid enduring an uncomfortable car insurance interview with the BBC’s risk assessor.

Returning to BBC Two in the Spring, the trailer also appears to include clips from the new series including a tuxedoed LeBlanc in an Aston Martin DB11, Harris drifting the new Ferrari FXX K in Daytona and Reid crashing his taxi in Kazakhstan, as well as LeBlanc coming to the rescue of some naked ramblers on the Isle of Man in his Russian-built Avtoros Shaman.

The film ends with an appearance by The Stig who ruins the teams chances of walking away with a clean bill of health, by arriving on fire.

Last year Top Gear returned with a new hosting line-up after the previous hosts - Jeremy Clarkson, James May and Richard Hammond - left following a now infamous ‘fracas’ with a BBC producer. Chris Evans joined LeBlanc as one of seven main hosts but quit after one season after giving it his "best shot".

The trailer airs tonight before Let It Shine on BBC One.
