Dalits are the lowest caste of India's oppressive hierarchal caste system. They face persecution and are restricted to do the dirty, low-income jobs of India. This ongoing cycle of oppression is hard to break. Until now. For decades Bollywood (the film industry) has influenced Indian society and culture. Casting Call is a community-led, educational charity film project that offers Dalits the platform to learn and attain skillsets in film making.
