The meal box delivery service is seeking to regain momentum following a faltering IPO and increased competition from rivals such as HelloFresh, which has grown rapidly to claim 1.88m subscribers versus just 557,000 for Blue Apron.
This discrepancy has fed through into a loss of $23.7m in the fourth quarter and $122.1m for 2018 as a whole although forecasts suggest the business should have returned to profitability over the last quarter.
Kozlowski boasts expertise in e-commerce and consumer-focused businesses with stints as chief operating officer at Evernote Corp and global marketing and customer experience director at Alibaba also under her belt.
Blue Apron has sought to differentiate itself from its meal box rivals by plugging its environmentally friendly packaging.
