Southwest Airlines names Ryan Green as new CMO amid restructuring

Southwest Airlines has appointed Ryan Green as chief marketing officer, a role which will see him provide direction on a range of issues relating to the company’s brand, advertising and media relations.

In the post that outlines a senior restructure within the airline, it explained that Green will also oversee the its loyalty programme, digital strategy and mobile channels, all with a view toward driving additional revenue streams for the firm.

Green is credited with overhauling the customer experience at Southwest, bringing him to the attention of chief executive Gary Kelly, who has instigated a major leadership reshuffle intended to better position the carrier for future challenges.
