Omnicom-owned DDB has been awarded the lucrative $4bn US Army ad account, displacing incumbent McCann which had held the contract for over a decade.

Vision7 Media and The&Partnership have been appointed as the full-service agency partner for all national retail marketing for Toyota in Canada.

EMEA wins

Premiership rugby union team, Harlequins, has appointed Red Hot Penny to support the club's e-commerce technology and its retail marketing strategies.

Accenture Interactive has been added to Shell's CRM roster, tasked with working closely alongside the brand's lead digital agency Wunderman to deploy campaigns for the oil giant.

Ogilvy will be working with Sony PlayStation as the PR retained agency across both software and hardware, covering markets in the EMEA region.

Leonard Cheshire has appointed Don't Panic as its agency of record after a competitive pitch.

APAC wins

Independent media agency Taska Media has secured the entire national media business of Australia’s consumer events company Exhibition & Events Australia (EEA), in a deal that will see the agency deliver a full suite of television, radio, out of home, digital, partnerships and publisher-focused media buying.

The China Volleyball Association (CVA), the governing body of the sport and organiser of the China Volleyball League (CVL), has selected Genius Sports as its official scoring and stats technology supplier.

BBH China has been appointed as the creative agency for Mengniu Zhen Guo Li (真果粒), a milk beverage brand owned by Chinese dairy product manufacturers Mengniu.

As part of this appointment, BBH China will be responsible for managing strategy, creative, integrated marketing communications and packaging design for Mengniu Zhen Guo Li (真果粒).

Launches

Australian research companies Fiftyfive5 and GalKal have merged to form a new consulting business.

Hull based digital agency Strawberry, which recently celebrated its 25th year in business, has opened a new office in Manchester.

Legendary skateboarder and entrepreneur Tony Hawk has launched D/CAL, a hybrid brand consultancy and creative agency, with co-founders Adam Wilson (Carhartt, Mcgarrybowen), Jared Prindle (Tony Hawk Inc., 900 Films) and Ryan Maconochie (Arc, Leo Burnett, Trisect).

Mostly Media has opened an agency called 'Mostly Media North', based out of Edinburgh.

Cowan, an independent design agency has opened an office in Sydney. The new North Sydney office has been established to better service Cowan’s growing number of Sydney-based clients. One of the new appointments includes business director Marion Micoud, who joins Cowan from Landor, where she was responsible for Procter & Gamble (Olay, SKII and Safeguard) Asian retail and experiential business.
