According to an update on Sloterdyk’s LinkedIn profile he now serves as director of marketing for North America, Australia and New Zealand from its Los Angeles office, although neither Grindr nor Netflix have commented publicly on the move.

During his stint at Grindr Sloterdyk oversaw an increase in the number of daily active members from 3 million to 4 million, a track record he will hope to emulate with the streaming services' own subscriber base.

Netflix has risen to dominate the booming streaming sector with an increasingly ambitious production programme that is said to include former US president Barack Obama in future content.
