McCann New York expands creative leadership team with four appointments

McCann New York has expanded its creative leadership with the appointment of three executive creative directors and a new group creative director.

Maru Kopelowicz, Jeff Anderson and Cam Hoelter have joined as executive creative directors while Holly Hessler has been named as a group creative director.

“We're thrilled to welcome Maru, Jeff, Cam and Holly to McCann. The creativity and passion each of them brings to the table will help us continue to push boundaries with the work we produce,” said Tom Murphy, co-chief creative officer at McCann New York.

Kopelowicz joins from Ogilvy & Mather, where she most recently led global creative for brands like Holiday Inn, Holiday Inn Express, and Crowne Plaza. She began her career as a copywriter in Buenos Aires, Argentina, later moving to agency positions in Miami and New York. Her work for Tide/Ariel and Glade has won five Cannes Lions, among numerous other national and international awards.

Anderson joins most recently from Chi & Partners New York, where he was an executive creative director. He began his career as an art director at TBWA\Chiat\Day in New York but has also been writer in positions at Droga5 in New York and Goodby, Silverstein & Partners in San Francisco. His recent range of experience includes brands such as PBS, HBO, Hewlett Packard and Chevrolet.

Hoelter, who moved to New York from Australia in 2016, was most recently an executive creative director at DDB New York. His experience includes work for McDonald’s, Volkswagen, Pure Blonde, Lumix and Frito-Lay. He has won awards at Cannes Lions, One Show, D&AD, Spikes, Clio, Adfest, Effies and Global Facebook Awards.

Hessler joins McCann from TBWA\Media Arts Lab in LA where she worked as a creative director and copywriter on Apple for several years. Before that, she worked on a wide range of brands like Nike, Target, Southwest, and Pepsi at Deutsch and TBWA\Chiat\Day.

“Each one of them brings the ability to align engaging creative ideas with client goals,” said Sean Bryan, co-chief creative officer at McCann New York. “We have a courageous approach to creativity and believe this team will add to that vision.”
