20th Century Fox has released an artificial intelligence-themed short featuring Alien: Covenant’s Michael Fassbender android ‘Walter’.

The ‘Meet Walter’ short is co-delivered by chipset company AMD, the official CPU/GPU partner for 'Alien: Covenant'. It will benefit from the association with the artificially intelligent synthetic humans.

In the Alien cinematic universe,Walter represents the zenith of robotics... at a cost; he has been created by malevolent corporation Weyland-Yutani.

The short will debut during a screening of Alien at SXSW, with director Ridley Scott and Michael Fassbender in attendance, after which an exclusive poster will be given to fans.

Following the showing, viewers will receive a short look at scenes from Alien: Covenant. The movie is due for UK release 12 May 2017.
