ITV has extended its Britain Get Talking messaging with the launch of a print campaign and pop-up combo designed to encourage the gift of listening to this Christmas.

The emotive work illustrates that our time is the single best gift we can give our loved ones this Christmas by artfully depicting the negative space left behind by an unwrapped Christmas present, revealing a heartfelt message instead of the usual aftershave or socks.

Illustrating why the perfect gift isn't material and so costs nothing and requires no fiddly wrapping the promotion urges people to give a few minutes of their time instead to bend an ear to those closest to us.

Spearheaded by Uncommon Creative Studio the work has been delivered in partnership with the YoungMinds, Mind and SAMH charities to show that mental health is every bit as important as material wellbeing.

Differing messaging is employed for each execution to remind us that in times of crisis it is the simpler things in life that carry the greatest weight.

Susie Braun, director of social purpose at ITV said: “When we’re all so busy at Christmas, it can be easy to forget to check in with the ones you love and truly listen to how they’re doing. We’re delighted to make a Christmas campaign with a difference, reminding people to give the generous gift of listening this Christmas. After the last couple of years, we could all use an ear.”

In tandem with this activity, a pop-up shop has been opened in London's Soho hosted by singer and presenter Fleur East, in which passers-by were presented with a giant chocolate bar molded to the shape of a human ear.
