The actors connect over their love of ‘eating food and going places’ in this touching film.

Uber has unveiled a new multi-channel campaign for its membership program, Uber One, starring Hollywood icon Robert De Niro and Sex Education star Asa Butterfield.

In the ad, viewers see the duo on the set of a movie as Butterfield nervously tries to make conversation with the acting veteran. Soon, they discover that it is the simple things that bond them. Various heart-warming vignettes of the two stars show their relationship blossoming as they travel around London together doing what they do best – eating and going places.

“Our new campaign aims to let people know that Uber One is a membership for people who eat food and go places, which is just about everyone,” said Maya Gallego Spiers, head of marketing for the UK and Ireland at Uber and Uber Eats.

“With Uber One, members can save money on Uber and Uber Eats and it’s already being enjoyed by over a million people in the UK. For our first ever Uber One campaign, we’ve been lucky enough to work with the incredibly brilliant Robert De Niro and Asa Butterfield, who have brought this campaign to life beautifully on screen.”

Created by ad agency Mother London, the campaign will run across TV, broadcaster-video-on-demand, cinema, digital and out-of-home. The poster headlines speak in a disarmingly obvious and humorous tone, with a design language that echoes the same simple, matter-of-fact style.
