It’s the latest iteration of the Britain Get Talking campaign, launched by Uncommon Creative Studio.

Since its inception back in 2019, ITV’s mental well-being push has continued to encourage families to keep connected and this latest ad is no different. During this year’s exam season, the broadcaster is highlighting just how stressful a time this can be for schoolchildren. In fact, according to a YouGov survey of UK adults, over two-thirds of parents with children aged 14–18 say that exam stress is causing their kids concern.

To raise awareness, ITV has once again teamed up with Mind, YoungMinds, the Scottish Association for Mental Health and Uncommon Creative Studio on a thought-provoking campaign.

‘No Silence Please’ includes radio, out-of-home, TV, press and social elements, each taking on recognizable aspects of exams. One black and white paper looks like a science exam test, there’s also an audio tape from a language exam and even a poster on the classroom door, all of which aim to reinforce that heart-pounding fear that assessments can evoke.

In the press, readers will see an anatomical drawing of a student’s heart to reflect the ‘palpitations’ they might experience during this period of their school life.

“Exams are a huge cause of stress for young people right now and as a parent, it can be hard to know how to help,” said Susie Braun, director of social purpose at ITV. “This campaign shows that simply talking about the difficult topics on our mind is often the best way to make it more manageable.”
