Pepsi releases new limited-edition S’mores Collection
Graham cracker-flavored cola, anyone? Now you have the opportunity to mix your own s’more-inspired beverage.
The Pepsi S’mores Collection is now available in 7.5-ounce cans / Pepsi
Pepsi is giving its fans the opportunity to crack open and enjoy a cold, delicious s’more; or rather, the ingredients of a s’more.
The soft drink company’s new, limited-edition Pepsi S’mores Collection – released today, the fall equinox – features three flavors, each of which is available in 7.5-ounce cans: marshmallow, chocolate and graham cracker. Fans are being encouraged to mix the three flavors, just as they would with a physical s’more.
“S’mores is one of the most unapologetically delicious treats that everyone likes to enjoy in a different way,” said Todd Kaplan, Pepsi’s chief marketer. “We at Pepsi are thrilled to introduce an entirely new way to s’more with our Pepsi S’mores Collection. This newest drop allows fans to construct their own s’mores to their liking – with the perfect amounts of graham, marshmallow and chocolate – in a deliciously indulgent drink without any of the mess. We can’t wait for fans to try it.”
Fans can also enter for a chance to win a three-pack of the new Pepsi S’mores Collection by posting “an image or description of how they s’more” and tagging #PepsiSmores and #Sweepstakes – and following @Pepsi – on Instagram or Twitter.
The Pepsi S’mores Collection follows a string of similar limited-edition flavors that the brand has unveiled in recent months, each of which has been designed (in part) to boost fan engagement and promote its reputation as an experimental and innovative soft drink brand; this latter goal has become increasingly urgent as younger people continue to shun sugary soft drinks in favor of healthier alternatives. Last year, for example, Pepsi released a Cracker Jack-flavored cola. More recently, in March, it collaborated with restaurant chain IHOP to release Pepsi Maple Syrup Cola.
