Skydiving Kevin Bacon ad shows there’s no need to get in a spin when you’re out of EE data
Kevin Bacon’s screen career is in freefall for his latest EE stunt in which the actor is seen dropping out of a tempestuous sky to deliver his latest telecoms message.
’Parachute’ sees Bacon draw a parallel between skydiving and the knot in your stomach that accompanies running out of data, arguing that no one need endure the sensation of uncontrolled panic with EE.
Taking a tumble before arresting his descent with an EE-branded parachute, Bacon informs UK customers that backup data on essential apps such as WhatsApp and Maps is safe, even after they exceed monthly data caps.
Pete Jeavons, marketing communications director at EE, said: “As Kevin expertly shows in our latest campaign, with Stay Connected Data, our customers can relax knowing they can always stay connected on the most essential apps with unlimited backup data – just in case their data ever runs out. Whether you need to instant message your loved ones on WhatsApp or are in desperate need of finding your next destination on Maps, EE has you covered.”
Premiering during the Epic Game Show on August 20, the 30-second TV campaign has been produced by Saatchi & Saatchi London, with accompanying out-of-home, video-on-demand and social.
Bacon’s most recent small screen appearance saw him set up an air traffic control tower in a suburban family home to demonstrate the capabilities of EE’s fiber broadband.
