Paddy Power, alongside creative agency Octagon, has launched a cringeworthy campaign that highlights the awkward moments in our lives.

Directed by Academy Award-nominee Peter Cattaneo, ‘Coffee Flirt’ follows an exchange between a barista and a customer who, unfortunately, thinks the café employee is hitting on her. Awkward.

“Everyone has unfortunately been in a similar situation – some more than others and me more than most,” said Josh Green, executive creative director at Octagon. “’Coffee Flirt’ depicts one of those horrifying everyday gaffes. Sure, it’ll probably be forgotten by the barista by the end of her shift, but it undoubtedly will live on in the nightmares of our customer for quite some time.”

It’s the last commercial in the playful ‘More Chances’ series and was written and art directed by Octagon creative directors Jonny Watson and Dan Harrison.

“We’ve all been there – that one moment you wished the ground would swallow you up in an instant,” said Andy O’Rourke, gaming brand manager at Paddy Power.

“Keeping the one chance in life momentum, we want our punters to know Paddy Power offers endless chances. With the Daily Jackpots and Wonder Wheel Games there’s always that one more chance”.
