The Drum is selling a one-off copy of a classic Drum magazine cover for charity, part of the Retail Deep Dive coverage into NFTs.

Own your very own piece of Drum magazine cover art by taking part in the auction this week. The classic image, created by The Drum’s design team, depicts the world’s shift into understanding a new normal, representing a historic moment for the marketing industry.

What you need to know

  • The image goes on sale as an NFT on OpenSea this week, with the auction ending on Thursday 19 August 2021. In order to make a bid, you will need to log into the platform and connect your Etherium wallet.

  • All proceeds from the auction will be donated to The Drum’s chosen charity, The Marching Cobras. The marching band are from Cobra Performing Arts in Manhattan, an organization that aims to keep inner-city kids away from crime on the streets by giving them something to learn, something to do and something to aim for.

  • The Drum is delving into the world of NFTs as part of this week’s Retail Deep Dive. The Drum has also spoken to experts across the industry about how and why this new form of selling with transform the industry.

  • The experiment in selling a classic piece of Drum’s content is part of a long history of experimenting with the industry’s latest fads and hyped trends.
