UK marketing agencies join forces to kickstart spending with January sale on fees

Around 30 UK marketing agencies have pledged to take part in a 'Save 2021 Sale', cutting their fees and campaigning collectively in a bid to win new work and revive the economy.

Marketing agencies drive down fees in a bid to win work

Participating agencies have signed up to offer a 33% discount off their first three months' work. They say the move is designed to encourage clients to prepare now for the return to normal trading when vaccination against Covid-19 reaches a level which triggers an unlocking of the economy.

What is being offered?

  • Led by London Advertising and supported by independent agency network Pimento, the fast-moving campaign is growing rapidly with calls for the rest of the industry to get behind its aims in a show of unity.

  • As wallets tighten around the country, cautious advertisers are being encouraged to loosen the purse strings with an across the board 33% discount for the first three months of work for all new campaigns.

  • London Advertising founder Michael Moszynski said: “Marketing agencies are ideally placed to help businesses optimise their share of the ‘Covid-Dividend’ of £100m in unspent disposable income that consumers will be itching to spend once restrictions ease, as well as take advantage of the 67 new trade deals we have in 2021.”

  • Stephen Knight, founder of Pimento, added: “We want to make a contribution to the revival of the economy and encourage those who have put their marketing plans on hold to get ready now for the release of pent-up demand later in the year. We call on clients to take us up on this offer and other agencies to join us to do their bit.”
