Voice Experience agency Rabbit and Pork has released its fifth edition of whitepapers, to reveal which brands that are performing best with Google voice assistant. They are still the only agency group in the industry to produce a voice search ranking report of this kind.

Since publishing the first papers in April last year, they have given brands and agencies something to think about in terms of where the voice asistance sector is heading. Marketers can now think how voice devices can be used in response to consumer queries.

Since the agency's last report, they had seen a 26% increase in the Google Assistant’s ability to answer questions. In Q1 2019, the Google Assistant was able to answer 53% of questions whereas by Q2 2019, this had jumped to 67%.

The agency has attributed this growth to various factors, such as Google's improved search algorithm ability, meaning it can create web answer box content, instead of Knowledge Graphs and Action Prompts; brands are increasingly focusing their time and effort on creating voice friendly content; and Google are linking more of their existing web products to be read out through the Google Assistant.

The reports are split into 23 verticals with each containing results from 500 key phrase, a data set that tracks and analyses trends to show how the assistant has been answering queries over time. The reports provide marketers with insight to know where opportunities for brands and voice search lie.
