Luz, who was also the global brand officer of the food company, departed Kraft Heinz after just eight months in May amid a tumultuous period at the company.

Its stocks tumbled 27% in February when $15bn was written off the value of its Kraft and Oscar Mayer brands. Chief executive Bernardo Hees handed in his notice the month before.

Now, the marketer has re-emerged in a chief executive role. He confirmed he had joined wellness brand 8Greens after just one month off the scene, relocating from Kraft Heinz’s headquarters in Chicago to New York.

8Greens was founded by Dawn Russell, who developed the health brand after surviving cancer in her mid-20s. The company’s flagship product – an effervescent health tablet made from eight “greens” – was launched in 2015.

Currently available exclusively in North America, the brand recently received minority investment from Prelude Growth Partners – a fund run by equity veteran Neda Daneshzadeh and Alicia Sontag, the former global president of beauty at Johnson & Johnson.

8Greens, which is jointly run by Russell’s husband, Lord James Russell, said it would use the capital to by Prelude to broaden its reach in the United States, enlarge staff and “prime the product development pump”, Beauty Independent reported. The company is run between London and New York.

Luz and 8Greens did not immediately respond to The Drum’s request for comment.
