Howard, who was previously the chief marketing officer of Sonos, is departing for Dashlane, a credential and digital identity management platform that has just closed a Series D funding round.

She is currently "transitioning" out of her role at Lyft, according to her new company, and will officially start with Dashlane in August.

Lyft has since split the chief marketing officer job between two roles: a vice-president of marketing operations and a vice-president of brand. Both will report directly into co-founder and president John Zimmer, who company sources say is taking an active role in shaping the brand.

Heather Freeland, formerly Facebook’s head of global marketing communications, takes on the marketing job, while Google marketer Jabari Hearn has been appointed as brand leader.

Howard joined the ride-sharing app in October with a remit to steer the brand and its marketing operations through its ‘next phase of growth’, which included its recent IPO.

Since going public in March, the company has experienced a difficult couple months on the stock market, resulting in a class action charges over reportedly misleading investors.

Lyft’s former vice-president of marketing, Melissa Waters, departed last November and is now installed as the chief marketing officer of Hims.
