Claiming a first, the OOH campaign has seen 10 of the city’s busiest bus stops kitted out with the Wireless PowerSharing feature of the latest Samsung Galaxy S10+ smartphone.

Lena Liew, head of brand marketing at Samsung Singapore’s IT and Mobile business described it as a “creative solution” for its marketing push around the new phone.

Marketing director of JCDecaux Singapore, Isaline Duminil, added: “JCDecaux is delighted to create Singapore’s first out-of-home wireless charging stations at bus stops in partnership with Samsung, a brand name synonymous with creativity and connectivity, and with whom we share a passion for innovation with.

“Our innovative builds for Samsung, strategically located along the stretch of the major retail belt of Singapore, enhances convenience and connectivity for over 1.5 million consumers weekly, giving them an augmented brand experience. The first creative solution on our bus stops this year demonstrates the dedication to our core value of innovation and we are always looking forward to developing new creative Out-Of-Home solutions which allow clients to fully leverage our capabilities.”

Samsung also ran campaigns on JCDecaux’s other platforms around Singapore, including ION Orchard and Changi Airport.

The brand is hoping that such tactics will bolster sales after it was forced to issue a profit warning last month.

Its US marketing team was also recently rocked by the exit of chief marketing officer of nearly four years, Marc Mathieu amid an internal investigation.
