PepsiCo commercial boss to oversee marketing in leadership reshuffle
PepsiCo is to shake up its leadership team with the elevation of Laxman Narasimhan to the post of global chief commercial officer where he will head its long-term growth strategy, marketing and commercial outputs.
PepsiCo undertakes leadership reshuffle in pursuit of new growth
Reporting directly to PepsiCo chairman and CEO Ramon Laguarta Narasimhan’s responsibilities will also include design, e-commerce and global R&D. Laguarta previously served as chief executive for Latin America, Europe and Sub-Saharan Africa.
Laguarta commented: "As we pursue our new vision to 'be the global leader in convenient foods and beverages by winning with purpose,' we have taken some important steps to reorganize our leadership team.
“Laxman is the ideal executive to take on this important new role with his vast operating experience, strategic acumen and successful track record unlocking growth opportunities across our businesses and sectors. He will be instrumental as we sharpen our integrated long-term growth strategy and execute our plans to deliver sustainable, attractive marketplace and financial performance.”
Elsewhere Rene Lammers, senior vice president of category research and development, has been appointed to the role of chief science officer.
The move comes as part of a ‘delayering’ initiative which will see key businesses and geographies all routed through Laguarta to create a more responsive organisation.
Last October the beverage brand appointed Viraj Chouhan as chief communications officer as part of these plans.
