The deal will bring BJL’s specialisms in brand strategy, advertising, content production, PR, social media and CRM within Dentsu’s established presence in media, digital, data and technology, strengthening its creative capabilities in the region.

BJL chief executive Nicky Unsworth will remain in post following the merger, with managing partner Jackie Holt and commercial director Iain Kerr also set to remain in their respective positions from the agency's existing offices.

Rachel McDonald, managing director, Dentsu Aegis Network North said: “We have worked with BJL for many years and admired both the stand-out creative work that they deliver and the impressive talent they’ve grown from their headquarters in Manchester.

"The addition of BJL further strengthens our offering and ability to offer true end-to-end brand solutions for our clients across creative, media, digital and technology.”

Founded in 1987 BJL has grown to employ 75 staff working for a range of consumer and B2B clients such as Hilton, The Co-operative Bank and Ronseal.
