PepsiCo China is hoping to inspire Chinese consumers to reach for the stars in a space-themed online film to celebrate Chinese New Year.
The seven-minute film tells the story of three astronauts preparing for their first space mission while showcasing the challenges and fears for them and their families as they prepare for their uncertain voyage.
The film celebrates China’s burgeoning space program and was timed to coincide with China’s historic landing of a space probe onto the far side of the moon, this month.
The ad aims to stir Chinese people’s pride in their space program as well as celebrating China’s progress as a nation and showcase its development and growth over the last 40 years.
The film is part of an integrated campaign and is the latest installment of an eight-year campaign by Pepsico to celebrate Chinese New Year.
The film was created by Civilization Shanghai and directed by Clement Cheng.
