This year’s submissions saw a mix of categories stand out to the judging panel including, Rising Star, Best Use of Data, Best B2C Campaign, Best Retail/eCommerce Campaign and Best Financial Services Campaign.

According to GoCompare head of external communications, Anders Nilsson, the judging has been a really difficult process as the standard from the entries has been very high.

Google agency head, Oliver Illing said: “The Rising Star category was the hardest to judge because the bar was set so high. It was really impressive to see the amount of young talent in the industry. There were a lot of entries, which is a testament to the business, but the ones that have been chosen were exceptional.”

The Rising Star nominees are: Hollie Beeson, Crafted; Jack Carey, Infinity Nation; Ellie Entwistle, Bring Digital; Victor Lin, MediaCom WorldWide; Fred Maude, NMPi; Victor Metzger, Mediacom International and Oliver Williams, iProspect UK.

Another category that stood out for the judges was the Best Use of Data. Verve Search head of innovation, James Finlayson said that the best entries have shown a clear emphasis on transparency and data driven approaches. “The SEO financial services category was a really competitive one, with a lot of great entries, which is good to see as it is an area that typically hasn't seen a lot of innovation.”

Jellyfish managing director EMEA, Edward Ball saw a trend with agencies who have been very conscious around how they use data to drive tactical decisions.

The nominees for PPC Best Use of Data are: Hallam Internet - Driving revenue with bespoke, data-driven Google Shopping models; Havas media group, Reckitt Benckiser, Strepsils, Trigger Model; Havas media group, Kia, Kia Lead Generation; Havas media group, OLX, OLX VOGON; Mediacom International, American Airlines, Taking off with targeting precision for American Airlines; Merkle | Periscopix, Sunny, From PPC to CRM andWolfgang Digital, Tesco Ireland, 'How To' Use Data to Win Christmas.

Chairman of the judging panel Kryzysztof Pochopien, global digital marketing manager at BP/Castrol said that the standard of entries this year was high with clear strategies and performances shinning through.

A full list of the nominees can be viewed here. Winners will be announced at the awards ceremony on Wednesday April 25 at the London Marriott Hotel Grosvenor Square and tables can be purchased online now.
