The NFL season kicks off tonight, with the defending champs, the New England Patriots taking on the Kansas City Chiefs. Longtime football advertiser, Bud Light, is ready for kickoff with a new spot as part of its ‘Famous Among Friends’ platform.

The new ad, ‘Vendor’ celebrates the beloved beer vendor, who roams the stadiums hawking, in this case, “Ice cold Bud Light here!” As a fan requests one from the vendor, he tells his friend how awesome it would be to have the vendor around all the time. That, of course, leads into a scenario that starts off great, with the vendor offering Bud Light at home in front of the TV and at parties, but goes awry during work, dates, movies, a funeral and sleep.

It’s the first of Bud Light’s football-themed spots that will air this season and similar to recent Bud Light creative, it highlights a humorous take on friendship through the lens of the NFL fan experience.

As the official beer of the NFL, the brand is doubling down on fan experiences this year, debuting an interactive Bud Light Touchdown Glass, which will light-up at every scoring play the Patriots make. In addition to the in-game moment and as a nod to the Patriots infamous 28-3 comeback in Super Bowl LI, fans can get in on the fun by purchasing one of 28,300 Bud Light Touchdown Glasses through the Bud Light fan website.

65,000 Patriots fans in attendance of the home opener will also receive the Bud Light Touchdown glasses in their seats and will have the opportunity to participate in a toast, as their Touchdown Glasses will shine in Patriot’s blue when the Super Bowl LI banner is unveiled in the stadium for the first time.
