Mexico City Metro creates 'Penis Seat' that will rub men sexually harassing women the wrong way
The sexual harassment of women on cramped transit systems is a global issue with no easy solution, however, Mexico City has released a public service announcement (PSA) documenting how it would tackle the problem.
The Mexico City Metro hopes to raise awareness around the maleficence of masturbatory malingers by giving them a taste of their own medicine with a specially-molded chair featuring an uncomfortable phallic addition primed to probe users.
The stunt features as a striking PSA rather than a regular installation on the Metro. The Penis Seat features the genital in addition to an invasive gut to underline the uncomfortable scenarios forced upon women on a daily basis.
The seat, ‘For Men Only’ conveys how uncomfortable such scenarios can be and raises awareness of sex crimes occurring in transit systems – one solution is women-only carriages adopted in the likes of Tokyo.
The Mexican government claims that 65% of all Mexico City women have been sexually harassed either on a bus of train in the city.
Further underlining the issue is a second video stealthily stealing footage of men’s butts.
