Both women will be based out of the firm’s New York City headquarters and will report to co-founders Jaime Robinson and Lisa Clunie.

With a name inspired by all the Joans in history who have challenged and changed the landscape around them, the agency’s approach is based on "irregular thinking" that delivers exceptional results for brands.

In her role as director of business operations, Ward is responsible for instituting business systems and reporting dashboards as well being the key driver of pricing, profitability and logistics. In addition, Ward will oversee the agency’s Diversity Foundation and spearhead client collaborations. She joins from product design and innovation consultancy Frog.

Dwyer is responsible for overseeing the strategic capabilities of the agency, in line with its unique positioning of "iregular thinking." In addition, she will focus on developing new ways to work based on today’s specific marketing challenges. According to her LinkedIn profile, she previously served as a freelance brand strategy director. Throughout her career, she has worked at agencies including Saatchi & Saatchi and SapientNitro.

“This is such an exciting and vital time for Joan. As we continue to scale and bring on new business and new people, it’s imperative that the people we hire are real Joans. Different, yet completely united in their ability to think in unusual and irregular ways. People who are kind, creative, empathetic, curious, weird and fantastic,” said Clunie. “Both Dominique and Megan fit this bill completely. We are thrilled to add their irregular thinking to our team.”

Joan was founded last year by Clunie and Robinson with General Mills on board as a launch brand.
