The Drum's Scottish Event Awards 2016 results: Find out who took home the trophies

The Drum's Scottish Event Awards took place last night (5 October) at the Glasgow Raddison hotel, celebrating the best organisers, promoters, in-house teams, venues and industry suppliers in the business.

Winning big on the night were Glasgow Life, the City of Glasgow, British Gymnastics, UK Sport and EventScotland which shared the Grand Prix for their work on the 2015 World Gymnastics Championships, a competition which brought together athletes from across the world to compete in Glasgow.

Meanwhile, Perthshire-based PR firm Volpa took home the Chairman's Award for the Enchanted Forest Community Trust's 'Flux' light and sound installation in Pitlochry.

Other victors on the night included: NVA's Hinterland event, which took home the gong for Cultural Event of the Year; Tiree Music Festival which was named Small Event of the Year and Kommando's 'See The Invisible: Second-hand Smoke' stunt for the Scottish government which won in the Experiential Event of the Year category.

This year's scheme was judged selected by a panel of industry luminaries including: Mark Stewart, senior events manager, EventScotland ; The British Fashion Council’s head of events Josef Jammerbund and chairman Kevin Jackson who is the director of ideas and innovation at The Experience is the Marketing.
