Hackers infiltrate Variety’s email
Entertainment magazine Variety was the victim of a hack by Our Mine yesterday (3 September), which has previously infiltrated the social media accounts of Facebook’s Mark Zuckerberg, Twitter's Jack Dorsey and Evan Williams and Google chief Sundar Pichai.

Whist Variety’s social media accounts and website were seemingly unaffected, a number of emails with the subject line ‘Hacked by #OurMine’ were sent to readers.
The publisher issued a statement saying that its team was working to resolve the unauthorised communications, urging people to ignore or delete emails.
“You may have received one or more emails from Variety with the subject line #Ourmine.Variety did not send those emails; please ignore and delete them. We are working diligently to contain the matter and will update you when the issues have been resolved,” read a message on its website.
As Mashable reports, this appears to be one of the first times the group has targeted a major media site.
