Just Eat is looking to make it easier for groups of people, all connected to one Wi-Fi network, to create collaborative food orders from separate mobile devices onto the Apple TV.

As the company buckles down on its technological offering, its latest work looks to ease large orders at events such as parties.

On the Apple TV, multiple people can all contribute to the one order from iPhone and iPads. The announcement comes as company is on the verge of investing in its research and development team to come up with similar schemes.

Fernando Fanton, chief product and technology officer at Just Eat, said: "The plans we’ve outlined today are all about ensuring Just Eat delivers a frictionless experience to customers, wherever they are. Working with brands like Apple, Amazon and others, we want our technology to become a permanent feature in our customers' living rooms, as well as in our restaurant partners' offices and kitchens.

“We are also delighted to be expanding our R&D team, which will continue to explore cutting-edge ways to bring the JUST EAT experience to more of those everyday moments when people might be looking to order food – whether they're hosting a party, playing video games with a group of friends or watching a film with their family.”

£40m is to be invested in the company’s UK marketing and tech output.
