Game of Thrones fans daily battles to stay spoiler free as the latest season of the fantasy epic chews through its run will have to go the extras mile to stay clear of spoilers for the next episode, The Door, after it was inadvertently posted onto the HBO Nordic website a day before general release.

Viewers have become accustomed to the Monday morning ritual of avoiding social media and office cooler conversations but this is the first time HBO itself has given them the added temptation of downloading the episode a full 24 hours before its HBO premiere with episode 5 of season six available to view prematurely in Sweden, Denmark, Norway and Finland before being swiftly deleted after a few hours.

Despite HBO’s best efforts Game of Thrones remained the most pirated TV show of 2015 and 2014 as the clamour for all show related content supersedes mitigation efforts such as a simultaneous premiere in 170 countries and scrapping advance previews.

Despite being deleted the episode was swiftly disseminated amongst numerous pirate and torrent sites.
