ABC.WTF redirects to Bing – someone is trolling Google’s Alphabet launch
Some web trolls have reacted quickly to news of Google’s new holding company with a cheeky direct to Bing.
Following Google announcing on Monday evening that it was to restructure under a new parent company called Alphabet, an unidentifed individual has erected a redirect to Microsoft’s incumbent search engine Bing, mocking the new company name.
As Alphabet unveiled the web address ABC.XYZ as its new home, attentive web users noted that a similar search for ABC.WTF led instead to search rival Bing.
Although Microsoft has no taken credit for the move, the WTF acronym does exclaim someone’s surprise at Google’s move.
