V Festival re-enlists Cake to handle PR relighting a 15 year relationship after 13/14 hiatus
Cake has been brought aboard to handle PR for the V Festival’s 20th year anniversary celebration.

The Havas-owned agency pipped other agencies to the post with a competitive pitch and will now handle all consumer PR and media activity around the festival.
The appointment will represent a win for Cake which handled PR for V Festival for 15 years from 1998 before losing the contract in 2013, and subsequently 2014.
The event will kick off in Chelmsford on 22 August with Cake handling on-site activity, such as accreditation, press office management, artist liaison and press photography.
Adrian Pettett, chief executive of Cake, said: “Winning V Festival back is a great moment for Cake, especially for the festival’s 20th anniversary year. It is one of our longest standing clients - having worked with the brand for 15 years to make it a UK-leader on the circuit – and one which really plays to our strengths with high profile music events.
“The work for V Festival is a perfect example of what lies at the heart of what we do – great ideas and execution, to drive nationwide profile.”
This comes after Cake named Adrian Pettett as chief executive in November after the departure of Mike Mathieson.
