Amazon has been named as the sponsor of season five of Downton Abbey.

Set to hit screens on 21 September, the new season of the ITV drama will see broadcast and multiplatform sponsorship by the e-commerce company.

The sponsorship began with a ‘sponsored by Amazon Kindle’ tag on the end of the official trailer for the new season (above), with Joint to be the creative agency for idents.

Initiative was the media agency.

The previous season on the hit drama was sponsored by Tesco, with both Aviva and P&O also sponsoring earlier series.
