Twentieth Century Fox has appointed digital agency Blueleaf to develop a direct consumer-to-consumer mobile strategy and online brand experience for film and TV releases at its home entertainment retail division, Fox Direct.

The partnership’s first objective will be to produce a responsive website for the platform with the aim of merging entertainment and ecommerce to drive pre-orders of Blu-rays and DVDs.

Blueleaf's head of strategy Jonathon Palmer said: "We're really pleased to be working with such a progressive team. The direct-to-consumer proposition represents an exciting new chapter for one of the world's most successful entertainment companies."

Blueleaf’s client list includes the likes of Travelex, Next and Red Bull with recent work including a bespoke French ecommerce site for Laura Ashley and an ecommerce platform for Graham & Brown, the paint and wallpaper supplier.
