Asos website shut down after fire in warehouse
Asos has been forced to take down its website following a fire in its warehouse last night, 20 June.
The online only retailer said in a message on the site that nobody was hurt in the fire, but that it would be unable to take any more orders until the extent of the damage had been ascertained.
The same message appeared on its apps.
Earlier this year, Asos posted a 22 per cent decline in overall profits from £25.7m last year to £20.1m this year.
Nick Robertson, CEO, said at the time: “Asos is not and has never been about the short-term; the scale of the global opportunity remains as exciting as ever and we are investing for the many opportunities ahead."
In June, it also issued a profit warning for the year ahead, which sent shares plummeting 30 per cent.
