As the only advertising awards show with no rules or limits, the Chip Shop Awards has become renowned as the home of boundary-pushing creativity.

And knob gags.

But as this year's winning work proved, the Chip Shops is about much more than simply smut and bad taste.

Sure, many of the ads entered into this, the eleventh Chip Shops, would be too risque for your typical blue chip client – and quite understandably so.

But there were also ideas on display that could – and perhaps should – be deserving of some ad space in the real world.

So is the Chip Shops growing up? At last week's awards ceremony, we caught up with some of this year's judges to talk about the work that really caught their eye this year.
