The Syrian Electronic Army (SEA) briefly took over an Xbox support account.

Over the course of 45 minutes, several messages linking to the SEA website and Twitter account were posted from @XboxSupport.

The hacking group also posted a screenshot of the ‘edit your profile’ option on Twitter along with a similar image of the Xbox Instagram account.

The Next Web also reported that the SEA posted a faked manual retweet promoting a spoof “new game”.

The tweets, which followed a similar hijack of Microsoft’s Skype accounts, have now been deleted.
