Fifa has unveiled its first official app ahead of the Final Draw for the 2014 Fifa World Cup Brazil.

Expecting over 70 million downloads in its first few months, the app is aiming to offer fans a more personalised experience with the integration of Facebook, Twitter and the Fifa.com Club, the world’s largest online community of football fans.

It features a World Match Centre – providing live coverage from over 200 national leagues and competitions across the globe – which can be personalised by the fan’s favourite clubs and national teams, while a News section hosts the most up-to-date information from the world of football.

Launched in time for next year’s World Cup, a dedicated section on the platform provides exclusive access to live coverage of the Final Draw, which will be supplemented by reactions from coaches as the groups and games are announced. This section will continually evolve in the build-up to the 2014 tournament.

Fifa president Sepp Blatter explained: “Our mission is not only to develop the game, but to touch the world and build a better future. With the official Fifa app, we are using mobile technology – the most personal technology ever known – to unite and inspire fans, ensuring they never miss a moment of the beautiful game.”

The app was developed by Monitise Create, formerly Grapple, and is free to download in English, French, German, Portuguese and Spanish on iPhone, iPad and Android smartphones and tablets.
