ITV has launched an international service for ex-pats and British tourists abroad to allow them to keep up with Coronation Street and Emmerdale.

Service: ITV has launched ITV Essentials

The ITV Essentials service was created in partnership with Saffron Digital and has been launched in 12 European territories. Users can access episodes of the soaps without any ad breaks and kept within a 30-day catch-up window via Wi-Fi and a monthly subscription €5.49 on a dedicated website.

Neale Dennett, ITV’s controller of pay and distribution, said: “This is a landmark deal for ITV. We are thrilled that we can now deliver the UK’s favourite soaps to the millions of British fans living and visiting abroad.”

ITV said the service was part of an ongoing strategy to test new business models and content delivery methods.
