Google Street View has joined forces with the BBC to offer Dr Who fans unprecedented access to the famous blue police box from which the Time Lord traverses time and space.

The bonus feature has recently been installed on Google Maps, at one of the few remaining public police call boxes still in-situ, just outside London’s Earls Court tube station.

Intrepid fans who navigate their way there digitally will find themselves materialising inside the central control room of the infinitely big interior, from where they can peruse the flashing lights and gizmos scattered around the stage set.

Some 366 explorers have given the CGI experience a 4.3 star rating with one visitor complaining: “It's bigger on the inside! Fantastic stay! The swimming pool was very relaxing, and sometimes, while I was falling asleep I got the sensation that I was moving! There was a bit of disturbance sometimes with kind of a whirring noise, but it was well worth it! The landlord was a strange man, he would talk to himself and shout things at the most random times. Still, his stories were very entertaining, a bit fanciful but fun to listen to! Even though I only spent 2 days there, it feels like SO much longer, I wonder why that is...”

Google hasn’t said how long the Dr will be in town before the TARDIS de-materialises so get in quick before it’s too late.
