Images of what is thought to be Apple’s iOS 7 design have appeared online following beta previews of the new operating system.

9to5Mac has reproduced a mock-up of iOS 7’s new look graphics package after having seen the new software in action. The simpler and starker layout is credited to lead designer Sir Jonathan Ive and features flat icons and clearer fonts this time around.

Rumoured features of the new operating system include new photo and video sharing methods as well as Vimeo and Flickr integration. 9to5Mac claims that several icons have been redesigned with the signal bar notably being changed to five dots in white or grey in the top corner of the screen.

Of the menu icons to be overhauled 9to5Mac reports that Safari now looks like the Mac circle icon without the silver frame, the compass icon is darker and flatter, the photos icon is now a colour wheel, and Game Centre has been completely redesigned from its previous look to something more akin to the new photos icon. There are also two colour schemes for many of the apps – black and white.

iOS 7 is expected to be officially previewed at this week’s Worldwide Developers Conference.
