Halo live-action TV series involving Steven Spielberg revealed at Xbox One Microsoft event

Microsoft has unveiled the Xbox One, the latest gaming console that will include a kinetic camera sensor and game pad while announcing that its video game series Halo is set to become a live action series, streamed through Xbox, and involving Steven Spielberg.

The console is voice and gesture controlled and will allow users to switch between playing games, watching TV online, steaming music and making Skype powered group calls it was revealed from the Microsoft headquarters in the US.

Entertainment app Smartglass, which has been downloaded over 10m times over the last year since its launch, will also be available for use through Xbox One, it was confirmed.

During the conference it was also announced that science fiction shooter Halo was to be developed with the involvement of Steven Spielberg into a live action series to be broadcast through Xbox.

A Blue Ray drive will also feature while the next versions of FIFA 14, Madden 25, NBA Live 14 and UFC are each being developed for the console for the next year, and racing title Forza Motorsport 5 will be available upon launch.

Meanwhile, Call of Duty’s next entry in the series, Call of Duty Ghosts will also be released exclusively on Xbox One.

It was also revealed that Microsoft is to invest in using 15,000 servers to power Xbox Live to store saved cloud data.
